How should I cut my hair?

I have brown hair that's a little past my shoulders its naturally thick and curly but I straighten it all the time so I have a lot of split ends. I want to cut my hair like lauren Conrad did when she cut it really short, or selena gomez' new haircut. I have a round face so I don't know what to do? please help! thankyou!
