Is it only me who think this way or is it true that Marshall Plan offered by US was required for its own needs

I am tired of reading that since US helped rebuild Europe after World War 2, Europe should be greatful to US for it and support it in every action it does, whether right or wrong. I mean isn't it true that US had to help Europe as US needed markets? Also, that money was paid off by 70's, so there shouldn't be that kind of reasoning. Also, in winning the wars ( both WWI and WW2 ), Europe fought on side by side with USA and it wasn't only the US which did everything. Also, please provide some website links where I can look up both sides of this argument.
